And then Ethan turned two years old. Holy moly, where did the time go and how has my sweet Ethan grown into a big two year old already? It feels like June 6, 2010 was just a blink of an eye ago and my little spud was born.
And his chair picture from a year ago? It seems like just yesterday and yet he looks so little!
And
now he is this big (well, he's always been big), exuberant, energetic
and delightful (again, he has always been delightful) toddler who has
such a sweet spirit and joy that just radiates from his bright blue
eyes.
Our boy at two years old has so much energy! He
runs instead of walks, shouts in hyper mini sentences and has a joy for
life. Everything these days is either "yay! (fill in the blank)" or "bye
bye (fill in the blank)." Yay Target! Yay Nama (grandma)! Yay
El-dee-deese (Eloise)! Yay yogurt! Or Bye bye Daddy! Bye bye Larry
(veggie tales)! Bye bye glasses (sunglasses)! He can probably say
somewhere around 200 words and talks all the time. It is so fun to hear
how his articulation is starting to become more and more clear and so
endearing to hear his attempts at pronunciation (glasses is glathes, fix
is fixth).
We aren't quite sure how tall he is or how much he weighs as
we've pushed back his two year check up to later this summer but what we
do know is he is BIG. His size 6 (the biggest they make) diapers are
looking a little too small and he is in 4T shirts and 3T pants. He is so
much more interested in trying to figure out how things work, what
buttons do when he pushes them, and is starting to show some quick
frustration when he can't get something done the way he wants.
Here is his chair photo session for his big 2 year birthday!
Ethan, my sweet boy, you are such a delight! You bring such joy
to your mommy and daddy's hearts. We love your zest for life and sweet
giggle. We love to see how you are figuring out new tasks and climbing
all over our house. We love to see your heart growing into a very
special big brother to Eloise. You are absolutely precious to us and we
love you so so so SO much! Happy Birthday!
