father's day

This year was Pete's first year as a daddy of two!

We started our day off with an impromptu decision to go out for breakfast at Chris' pancake house. We were at the restaurant before 8am (thank goodness, since we literally just missed the rush by a couple minutes and got seated pretty quickly).

Most of our day was pretty low key. We took a family trip to Home Depot and enjoyed some frozen custard at Ted Drewe's. Daddy and Ethan also shared an afternoon nap.
And again we tried to take a photo of our family of 4, but let's just say its gotten a little bit more difficult with a newborn and a very rambunctious toddler trying to get us all together!

Attempt #1:

And attempt #2. Ethan is not taking photos right now, everyone. Please, camera down.
Ethan and Eloise are so blessed to have Pete as their daddy and I am so blessed to be Pete's lady. He has such a tender heart and loves us all so much, and boy do we love him too! Happy Father's Day!

ethan's birthday party

Last weekend we celebrated Ethan's birthday party at Tower Grove Park! The park has a great splash pad and playground that Ethan loves and he and his friends had a blast in the 90 degree heat playing in the water. Unfortunately we are still learning the art of parenting two kids and so while I was holding Eloise in the shade, Pete ran up to the splash pad with our very excited Ethan and didn't bring the camera so we don't have any splash pad pics. Alas, here are a few other pictures from his party.

Resting from their play time and getting ready to eat.

Sweet Eloise, all dressed up in her pretty party skirt, getting some snuggle time with Grandma Denise.
Singing happy birthday to our birthday boy!
Enjoying his cupcake treat! For some reason he had me feed him the whole thing!

By far one of his favorite gifts was this lawn mower. He went around and around and around the concession building that was there, with a few friends joining in the fun.
Once we got home we were all pretty tired but we attempted to take a couple family shots.

All in all a very happy day!

sweet eloise

Eloise is growing fast - already 3 1/2 weeks old. We love this sweet sweet girl so very much! Here are a few pics from her first few weeks at home.

She love, love loves to snuggle.
First sponge bath at home.

A photo shoot with daddy.

The girl has some long feet and toes!

Is she sweet or what?

ethan turns 2: part two

One of my biggest hopes for our "baby #2 season" was that I would not be in the hospital on Ethan's birthday (june 6th) and that I would feel well enough to help celebrate his special day. God was gracious to allow both of these things to happen! We had a great day that we got to share with Pete and Grandma Sheila.

We started our day by taking a trip to one of Ethan's favorite places - the zoo!

And then later Ethan got to open up his presents!

And then it was time for birthday cake!

We were having a whole lot of fun eating birthday cake!
Sweet Eloise even stayed awake for a bit!

We ended our day with a trip to Yo My Goodness for a second birthday treat of frozen yogurt. All in all a very, very happy 2nd birthday!
