eloise at 4 months

Well, she's done it. Baby girl is already 4 months old! Although she's now almost a big 4 and a half month old I was waiting on her 4 month check up that we had yesterday so I could give y'all a full report on all her stats. :)

So, officially Eloise weighs in at 14 lbs 11 oz (70th percentile), which means she's gained about 3 1/2 pounds in 2 months. And she is 27 inches long (off the charts) and so has grown 2.25 inches! Our sweet girl is growing fast.

This month has been a big month for Eloise and sleep. For most of her life I spent a large part of my day rocking and rocking and rocking her to sleep for her naps and bedtime (which was lovely and sweet, but also hard because of the energizer bunny 2 year old that also demanded my attention). Once she hit the 3 month mark we started to see how she would handle being put down in to her crib awake. And over the next few weeks we worked on it every day. I'm not a huge cry-it-out method mama but with our sweet Eloise, who had spent so much of her life crying even when being held, I knew that some crying was going to be inevitable.

I will say, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be and we started to figure out what worked for her. And now, she goes down in her crib awake and fall asleep - usually with maybe 5 or 10 minutes of crying, if any at all. She's taking about four 45 minute naps a day right now and goes to sleep between 6 and 6:30 and usually sleeps until 6am. Every now and then she'll wake up for a night feeding but for the most part she sleeps a good 11 or 12 hours each night.

We also started supplementing with some formula right around her 4 month birthday as she seemed ravenous after some nursing sessions, especially in the afternoon. She typically nurses 6 times a day now and we supplement with 6-10 oz of formula each day. She has tolerated the formula totally fine, which has also let us know that she doesn't really have a dairy issue (since formula is based on a milk protein) and so I have very much enjoyed adding dairy back into my diet!

She's started to laugh and giggle. She coos all the time. Rolls all over her crib. Stands all the time, per usual. Loves to stare and smile at her brother. Still demands our attention and loves to be held, which we love to oblige. We've started using her bumbo and her exersaucer which she loves as well. This girl is too cute! And seriously pretty. We love, love, love her so very much!

Check out her sweet 4 month pictures!

She was very preoccupied with her skirt.

Pete helped to hold her up for a standing pic.
Oh, this sweet girl. Still has her big eyes and luscious lips.

 Sweet, precious Eloise Joy.
